Whether it's top-down for summer or track-time for fun, Ford's iconic Pony Car, the 2022 Mustang, heats the blood of every car lover.

The Mustang has always been a fantastic, affordable thrill ride for any car lover, and the 2022 model is no different.

There are no significant changes for 2022, but 'update' is the name of the game. Let’s take a look at the evolution of this vehicle for this year.

Engine

This year the engine in the GT range and the Mach-1 will go down ever so slightly in power. The 5.0L Coyote V8 will be rated at 450hp, a loss of 10hp over the 2021 motor. With the power-dip comes a corresponding 10lb-ft hit in torque. This is due to stricter emissions controls.

Ice White Colour Package

For the first time in 28 years, buyers will be able to order the 2022 Mustang in a white-on-white package.

A stunning crystalline Oxford White exterior with an all-white interior will make this pony an elegant addition to anyone's garage. Also included in this package are iced tail lamps, a white pony logo and fender badges, all set on top of new 19X9" wheels.

Inside, you find leather seat inserts and door panels covered in blemish-free Oxford White leather.

The accent stitching on the headrests, gear shifter boot, door panels, and centre console are all Oxford White. The interior also sports a dash applique in polished aluminium, while the seat inserts and door panels are in trendy Oxford White leather.

The Stealth Edition

In contrast to the white-on-white above, the Stealth Appearance Pack gives consumers the option to go dark. This pack offers black-out touches to the wheels, badging, and mirror caps on the outside.

Inside you'll get a gloss-and-matt black instrument panel with sill plate lighting. The taillights get the same clear LED treatment as the Ice White package.

This package has been paired with four exterior colours; Shadow Black, Carbonised Grey, Dark Matter, and Atlas Blue.

California Special Pack (Updated)

For 2022, Ford has tweaked the California Special Package. The original rear fender scoop, blacked grille, and racing stripes down the side all remain. The stripes now extend along the body, though.

For this year, the GT/CS logos are in the blood Race Red as are the logos on the trunk, and the badge incorporated in the grille. Five-spoke 19" wheels round out the new package along with a front splitter taken from the existing GT Performance Pack.

Nothing changes on the inside, with the existing Miko suede seats and door trim and the carbon hex aluminium facial on the instrument panel.

Conclusion

Even though there are no major tech upgrades for this 2022 range, the Mustang remains a muscle car of note. It is as cool as ever and still the go-to sports car for many enthusiasts.
