River City Ford Gives Back
River City Ford has been, and continues to be, one of the most active pillars in sponsoring and supporting community causes and events here in Winnipeg. The core of our values lies in giving back to society and the community in which we live, work and play. We believe in working hard to create awareness for causes that need both our help and yours. We are proud to collaborate with the people and organizations that share our vision and values.
Driving Change Car Show
We believe in supporting our community and making it a better place for everyone. The Driving Change Car Show raised funds for the Grace Hospital Foundation - the Envision our Grace Capital Campaign. All funds raised went towards re-developing diagnostic imaging equipment. We had a great day with a lunch, 50/50 draw, bouncy castle, games, DJ and of course tons of cars - and proudly raised $4,272.11
Partnering with the Winnipeg Humane Society
River City Ford participates in the A Hot Car Can Kill campaign to spread awareness in the community by sticking the official campaign decals to all of our vehicles for the entire year. We’ve also partnered with Petland for their adoption event, which includes our vehicles sporting the decals during travel. Joining hands with the Winnipeg Humane Society, we campaign actively on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter on the dangers of leaving pets and children in hot cars in an effort to eliminate this kind of tragedy in the future. We take pride in having donated close to $60,000 in a span of two years to this worthy cause. At River City Ford, we want to ensure everyone, including our furry friends, enjoy a safe and happy car ride every time.
Food Fare Delivery Van
The COVID-19 pandemic provided challenges for both consumers and businesses. FoodFare wanted to help make things a little bit easier by providing grocery delivery service for residents of Winnipeg. We were happy to help out by providing a transit vehicle for the deliveries!
St. Alphonsus School Gala
The Gala Dinner is the signature event of St. Alphonsus School and is a community event in its truest sense. As a Gold Sponsor, we were able to help raise over $30,000 for program enhancement along with academic enrichment and community development programs within the school.
Westgrove Family Resource Centre
This important centre is for those living in Manitoba housing, offering core programming like community kitchens, family fun nights, public access computers, breakfast clubs, youth programming and much more. River City Ford was happy to donate $750 to their community food bank.
Backcountry Women was founded in 2017 with the vision of connecting like-minded people seeking community and adventure. Today, Backcountry Women has blossomed into a strong community of outdoors enthusiasts across Manitoba. Not only does Backcountry Women aim to provide unique, quality outdoor experiences, they also have a mandate to unite, educate, and empower through a variety of workshops and resources. Getting outdoors is important for mental and physical health, and River City Ford is so happy to lend vehicles to Backcountry Women, as well as donate to their cause.
Headingley Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament and Dinner
As a part of the Headingly Chamber of Commerce, River City Ford is so proud to be a major sponsor of the Headingley Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament in support of the Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Scholarship Fund, as a dinner sponsor, hole sponsor (with a fun game with prizes) and registration of a team for a great day at Breezy Bend Country Club. Each year the Chamber awards three $1,000 scholarships to graduating students for post-secondary studies. River City Ford is thrilled to have helped to ensure the continuity of this scholarship program.
Truth and Reconciliation Day
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process in our city, province and country. To educate, honour and recognize Truth and Reconciliation Day, River CityFord team members attended education sessions, and participated in a 50/50 where we were happy to donate $890 to the Circles for Reconciliation - a non-profit, grassroots community project that seeks to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada.
River City Ford actively participates in a food drive every year by collecting non-perishable food items at our dealership and partnering schools. The food items we collect are then shared the Winnipeg Harvest at the end of October, to be given to those in need.
Contributing to the Pulford Community Living Services
We strongly believe that every individual, no matter their developmental abilities, deserves the opportunity to live a full life. This is why we strongly advocate for the efforts of Pulford Community Living Services. Through our $2,500 contribution, we feel as though we are able to make a small difference in the lives of many.
Donating the Zoo Cruiser to the Assiniboine Park & Zoo
River City Ford has proudly donated a Zoo Cruiser to the Assiniboine Park Zoo. The park’s conservancy education team is delighted with the new vehicle, which is a welcome addition to the establishment as it has enabled them to provide their outreach programs on a greater scale within the community.
For more than 21 years, CanadaHelps has been the trusted charity, informing, inspiring and connecting charities and donors, with the causes they care about. Their vision is to inform, inspire, and connect donors and charities, and to democratize access to effective technology and education in the charitable sector. They have facilitated over $1 billion in giving, and River City Ford is happy to donate to this important cause.
La Salle Nursery School Golf Tournament
La Salle Nursery School offers a relaxed atmosphere for children to grow and learn, and are proud to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment. River City Ford is happy to support their annual golf tournament as a hole sponsor, as well as entering a team for a fun day on the greens. FORE!
Grace Hospital Foundation Bocce Ball Tournament
Established in 1990, Grace Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing patient care at the Grace Hospital through the funding of vital equipment and programs. As a sponsor of the 3rd annual bocce ball tournament, we were able to help raise approximately $35,000 for the Foundation, which will be put towards Grace Hospital's diagnostic imaging department improvement project.
Winnipeg Pet Rescue
At River City Ford, September was all about our furry friends! For the entire month, $150 from every vehicle sale was be donated to Winnipeg Pet Rescue. We are so happy to have donated $8,150! Plus, our team of pet-lovers showed how to keep your furry family members extra safe on the road with proper pet seatbelt use. Animal awareness is important to us, and we're proud to work with and sponsor Winnipeg Pet Rescue.
