Understand the Different Ford Ranger Trims

Understand the Different Ford Ranger Trims

The 2021 Ford Ranger is a mid-size pickup truck that offers value and capability to drivers in Winnipeg and across Canada. The first compact pickup truck designed by Ford, the Ranger returned to the lineup in 2019 for its fourth generation after a several-year hiatus. Heralded for its capability, customisation, quality, and value, the Ranger continues to provide all those things to drivers across Canada.

Offered in three trim levels, the 2021 Ford Ranger starts around $30,000, allowing it to fit into many budgets. Its size and capability allow it to have an easy on-road presence, act like a workhorse on the job, and handle off-road adventures. Within the three trim levels, drivers can select from two bed sizes and get a towing capacity of up to 3,400kg.

2021 Ford Ranger XL

Starting at $34,923, the entry-level 2021 Ford Ranger XL provides everything drivers need and some things that they want. Powered by a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, the XL generates 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an electronic 10-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode. In terms of infotainment, the Ranger XL runs Ford's SYNC software, which is controlled by an 8.0-inch touchscreen and features SiriusXM and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. FordPass Connect provides access to a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

2021 Ford Ranger XLT

Starting at $36,858, XLT builds upon the base XL model with safety-focused upgrades, including Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist technologies. This means that the blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping system, pre-collision assist, and more come standard. Infotainment is upgraded to the Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, which provides an elevated cabin experience along with dual-zone automatic temperature control. Drivers wanting more off-road capability now have access to the FX4 Off-Road Package for the Ranger.

2021 Ford Ranger Lariat

Starting at $43,038, the Lariat is the top-of-the-line model for the 2021 Ford Ranger. It upgrades almost every feature of the Ranger, leaving little to drivers' imaginations. The Lariat offers concert-like audio thanks to a B&O sound system, which boasts 675 watts of power and 10 premium speakers strategically placed throughout the cabin. Speaking of the cabin, it gets a luxurious upgrade in the Lariat trim level, including leather upholstery, heated front seats with power lumbar support, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Dual 4.2-inch productivity screens in the instrument cluster are more appealing to the eye and provide drivers with a wide range of useful travel and operational information. In addition, the cabin now features ambient lighting, and the exterior upgrades to LED headlamps and taillamps.
