Future Ford EVs: Every Electric Car Line-Up

Future Ford EVs: Every Electric Car Line-Up

The shift away from gas is gathering pace, with every major car manufacture regularly announcing new additions to the EV and hybrid market. A brand as well known as Ford isn't about to be left behind, and their range of electric cars is fast becoming one of the best.

Indeed, the company has committed to investing a huge $29bn (USD) in EV development over the coming years, with the entire range moving over to pure EV or plugin hybrid tech by the end of the decade.

But for now, here are the current EVs, hybrids, and plugin hybrids available in the Ford electric car line-up, offering a model for every need.

1) Ford Mustang Mach-E

The Mustang Mach-E is Ford's first entry into the fully electric vehicle production market. And although it bears the name of the company's venerable muscle car, it is in fact a crossover SUV firmly aimed at the family market.

However, the reason for the Mustang name soon becomes clear when you look at the specs. With an output of 346 horsepower, instant availability of 428lb-ft of torque, and a 0-100km/h time of just 4.8 seconds, this is an electric car to set the pulse racing.

2) Ford Escape

The Ford Escape is a classic of the family SUV genre, marrying sleek curves to spacious comfort to create a high-end experience. And the hybrid version is no slouch under the hood either, with the gas engine and electric motors creating a combined 221 horsepower, at an estimated city fuel economy of 5.3L / 100km.

3) Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion bucks the current trend for SUVs by arriving in an attractively curved sedan format. The plugin hybrid version combines the best of EV and gasoline tech either separately or in combination, with an estimated all-electric range of nearly 42km, and an estimated combined fuel economy of just 5.6L / 100km.

4) Ford Explorer

Lastly, the Explorer hybrid is fully off-road ready and built around engineering that doesn't compromise. It's also the only hybrid model in the family class which can tow up to 2,268kg thanks to its mammoth 318 horsepower output.
